Scorpa 4sale one careful owner
I hate to say it! But well done cliff you finally beat me
at last by a few silly marks. How much did it cost you in backhanders?
Well I suppose it's now time to hang up my boots. NOT!!!!! I'm
sure you will rinse this for all its worth, good luck to yer.
Sunday had most of the usual suspects turn up for some punishment
in the mud department which did have me on my arse a couple
of times, lets say it was a tad on the slippery side with sections
9 & 10 catching me out every lap.
Pretty good turn out considering a lot of riders were still
on their way back from the Scottish. 50ish or more riders started
with more on the day, also with the added few that now come
over to ride our centre from Essex. We are trying to get the
Essex crew who have affiliated membership to our club to make
up another Bexleyheath team for the team trial, which is in
the next few weeks. Hopefully good enough to whoop all yer sorry
backsides and get our name on that trophy, otherwise its going
to be down to me, Gary & Ed to do the job.
Anyway getting back to the trial. Normally I hate riding
at Penshurst and wasn't looking that forward to riding another
mud ridden-rain drenched same sections as every year previous.
After giving poor Brian some stick in last years write-up this
year it far exceeded my expectations. Lots of hard work (that's
something a few of you don't know the meaning of) had gone into
laying out some different routes by Brian & Roger, and the course
was run anti-clockwise instead of the normal clockwise which
did make the sections far more interesting. Even though most
riders were struggerling for grip in the muddy bogs and slippery
banks it was still a fantastic trial, one of the best I have
ridden in a long time.
Managed to catch up with LB on his first lap who was looking
a bit on the knackered side, and was having to struggle on with
a dragging and slipping clutch. Usual friendly banter was thrown
in his direction, 'you still going!' you going to finish this
trial!' or are you off home early to knit yourself a nice skirt?
YER
PANSY!!
Joking aside I think Lee didn't finish again!! Because
somehow he managed to rip off his footrest complete with frame
fixing. So better you get welding if you want to play at Burwash
this Sunday.
The usual cry of the mating chimpanzee could be heard coming
from deep within the woods, and the screaming of his gas gas
mate was evident. I think it was just an Ely taking his frustrations
out on his ride, cursing every dab, F*** - B******* - You K**B!!!
How funny to watch! :)
Andy Ely riding his new Beta was having a mare of a time
on the Ex B`s and at the last count was over 100. Ouch! Stuart
on his 10 year + Fantic was well and truly beating Steve on
his virtually new sherco, which according to him is crap in
the wet. Try letting some air out of your back tyre Steve. DER!
Ron Stevens section seemed to be causing all sorts of problems
especially for me collecting a five every lap on the exit. Must
be my IRC gone off. Everyone seemed to be loosing grip at the
bottom of the camber, but I did witness some good rides from
the likes of Matt Parbut & Rev-it.
I'm going to invest in some of those F1 tyre warmers and
some noss to shoot my rotund carcass up them slippery banks
next year. Should be fun!
Bloody good ride had by GR on winning the Ex b`s and also
to Graham Marfleet for winning the experts closely followed
by the chimp! The old man only went and beat all you novices;
you do know he's 67 and still going strong.
Once again thanks for a great trial will be back next year,
and also thanks goes to all the marshals, Brian & Roger
and the rest of the Owls Mcc who made this event happen.
Cheers Fleety
