I have been riding trials for about 22 years now and have never seen world class riders in the flesh, so when i was offered the chance to go to Sheffield arena by Cliff and Ed i jumped at the chance. After traveling 3hrs up the motorway we reached our destination ...SHEFFIELD ARENA... First stop was the pub opposite the arena, when we walked in what a surprise it was full of trials riders sporting there team and trials gear(VERY NICE!!). After a few beers we headed off to the arena to get our seats and get sorted out for the start of the show.We were seated about 10 rows back so we had a pretty good view of every part of the course, which consisted of about ten man made sections. Then we had the presentation of all the riders with the biggest cheers for the british boys DOUGIE LAMPKIN...GRIMBO JARVIS and last but not least Wild card rider STEVE COLLEY

Other class riders included.....FUJINAMI (fuji gas).... ALBERT CABESTANY....ADAM RAGA and MARC FREIXA All the riders had 13 minutes to complete 8 sections within the time limit otherwise would be penalised 1 mark for every or part of,over the allowed time.If they have a mechanical failure the clock is stopped and the rider is allowed five minutes to repair the bike before the clock is started again. Also the no-stop rule does not apply to indoor trials but the marking is the same the normal 1235 system. These as i understand are the basic rules to indoor arena trials. First off was manx man Steve Colley who set the pace for the rest of the field to follow, which in my eyes was pretty amazing making the man made nutty b.....d sections look damn easy.Steve only dropped about 9 marks which sadly at the end of the day was not good enough to qualify for the next round.

Then there was Cabestany on the beta who at the moment but not for long is world indoor champion(Dougie let him win Trophie cabinet was full). Albert showed pure skill on one very tricky section as he placed the beta on a plank of wood about 24inch`s wide from about 7ft in the air "WoW" ,this just shows the skill and fitness of all the top riders today.Next up was japans answer to superman little tiny fujigas, you can see why people call him fujiGAS,He has the montesa on full throttle half of the time with the engine sounding like it`s going to explode at any moment. Also with the supreme handling and skill of a blackbelt master, just shows you how good those Honda HRC engines really are

Graham jarvis who buy the way is from canterbury in kent and not bloody yorkshire had a good ride to but was just outside of qualifying,Graham has suffered a lot of injuries last season and has amazinly fought back to near on full fitness..better luck next time graham."BIG UP YOURSELF" Marc Freixa was "avin it" with his Montesa. But Even his amazing skill was not good enough for the next round. Then there came the young spanish gas gas rider Adam Raga who showed the sheffield crowd just what he could do.At the moment Adam is leading the indoor championship having won the series opener in andorra.

THEN THERE WAS THE MAN,THE MAN WAS DOUGIE GOD OF TRIALS LAMPKIN.What can i say this man is just amazing on his montesa he makes it look so easy,so smooth on the throttle, and controls the bike like Jesus walking on water.HE`S GOOD.and can only be witnessed first hand.If you think im being bias by "bigin up" dougie i am and i don`nt care IM English!!!! Fuji and Raga battled it out for 3rd and 4th places whilst dougie and Albert battled for 1st and 2nd..It came down to a nailbitting final where Albert pipped dougie by a whisper(photo finish)to win sheffield.WELL DONE ALBERT.Bad luck dougie you should have gone for it on that final jump, can`nt work out why you did`nt never mind........ At the end of the day we all enjoyed seeing the worlds top class riders and we will be doing it again next year thats for sure ....Basically bloody brilliant well worth the journey

O YEAH ALMOST FORGOT BIG SHOUT GOES OUT TO ED`S PARENTS FOR GETTING US THERE AND SORTING EVERYTHING OUT FOR US.THANKYOU VERY MUCH
