I gave out what was a good and truly good thrashing of the opposition at Sundays club trial at Stonegate on the 4th Jan 04 on the white route.

Gary was closest just 10 marks behind me losing 50 something to my 37 marks lost and Cliff bless him was up in the 90`s,,yes that's right the 90`s. It was a tad slippery and not very forgiving if you made the slightest mistake, with most of the sections laid out 4 days previous and in different weather conditions which were at the time a lot dryer and due to the fact that we was going to be in Sheffield on the Saturday night and only getting back in the early hours Sunday morning we took the chance that they might not change to much.

I seemed to be getting the most grip from the scorpa which normally Gary`s Mont gets the best grip in these conditions and Cliffs Sherco was slipping all over the place.

Did I mention we went to Sheffield where we witnessed o great one thrash the opposition as I did predict of course. Lets say from the word go Desperate dan - that's Dougie to you lot was on a mission and rode like the devil on steroids and a very hot poker up his jacksi, cleaning most sections with ease, well except for one section where he managed to do the same kamikaze trick as Fuji-gas by letting go of the bike 12 foot up in the air and getting a little bodily damage on the way back down..OUCH!

The paramedics did a wonderful job of putting Fuji and Dougie back together again but no luck for the bikes which were totally mangled, good thing they have a couple spare.

Anyway back to the trial, sections 1 - 6 were laid out just right for us white boys with a few jump through trees here and there and tight turns on the mud just laid out right for my irc tyre, which by the way I well recommend, better then those x11`s.

With just the right amount of slippage of the clutch and plenty of throttle got the bike going in the right direction, and just hang on long enough you could climb Everest or the empire state building on the back wheel whilst pouring yourself a scotch and coke. Wicked tyres mate!!

The stream sections 7 - 10 were also wicked with section seven dropping down the steep bank into the stream then out back up the near vertical bank and out across the slippery slope and round the tree of death. The blues had the easy route across the top and down into the stream and out, which we did see a few red riders aving a go at. No probs our harder sections are now getting other riders interested and there having ago at what they normally find impossible, and there progressing without even noticing it!

Ed where were yer you lightwait, your letting the side down my friend with yer pathetic excuses, ive got no front brake and my bikes locked up in work. Yeah Right!!

Even though I don't like stonegate that much it was one of the best club trials ive done in ages and im well up for winning the championship, and gazza if yer think yer hard enough I might let you come second.. as long as you don't finish up behind Gay boy.

Ive had enough of writing now im off to bed c ya…..
