Round six was held down at Richards farm at wainscot
on the 7th march 04.
Rumours had spread across the land like wildfire
that a few mysterious holes had appeared around his land, so it
was suggested that this would be a case for Fox & Mulder aka Fleety
and Robert`s to look into what had happened. Buy the way Garys
the one in the dress, as he rides like a bird.
No it wasn't an alien craft from some far away
galaxy, it was JCB man!!
To cut a long story short Richard had organised
for a digger to rip a few holes in the landscape mainly in one
corner of the bomb hole. Number one was a little different, as
you ride down the slope into the bomb hole the digger had cut
some new holes just to the right, not to severe, but just good
enough to take marks off the Gazza a few times. I had no probs
cleaning it every lap. These holes were fresh so the earth dug
from the holes was loose and caused all sorts of problems for
most of the entry. After we have had a few trials I think the
sections will get easier and the loose topsoil will settle down
and get to main road, but we have mapped out what will be possible
next time for the blues and whites, so make sure you wear plenty
of protection next time you ride at wainscot cause its gonna hurt.
In the morning we rode a few of the sections taking
our time and generally throwing abuse at various riders and taking
the mick when seeing them footing in the easiest of sections plus
doing our usual of shoving a camera in there faces and blinding
them with the flash always goes down well. I don't think Dave
Randal was to impressed by the looks of his photo, he reckons
the flash put him off. O well, Gary does apologise and promises
to stick the flash in your face again.
Got some good photos mainly me falling on my arse
when messing up on one of the new holes, didn't quite get it right
and fell back down bike on top, and boy did it hurt. It was that
bloody lees fault!!! Had to laugh to get through the pain of bashing
my shins on some bloody great rock. The bruises look good and
my leg still hurts today, but that bank didn't beat me. I made
it in the end, once I had stuck myself and the scorpa back together.
By the way Lee that bank was a little bit bigger than an ant hill,,,yes?
Shame the old boy couldn't get up it!!! How many attempts did
it take??? ;);)
Gary got a picture of Roy getting stuck on some
easy peasy ant hill. What was that all about? Yellow route could
have made that. na only joking, Roy you need to open up that throttle
a bit more and stop feathering about.
That throttle thingy on yer right 'you know the
twisty thing' if you open it up it makes the back wheelie thing
at the back of the bike (the thing shaped like a wheel) go round
quicker and you can then get over them small mounds a lot easier!!!
Rev -it ( Gary Stephens) that's his nick name
now was riding around with some strange geezer on a mont, who
just happened to look like Matt Parbut, but couldn't have been
him because this clone was riding the easy rout!! Na it weren't
him.
Getting back to Rev-it he was doing his usual,
Reving it around all the sections in rev-it styli, back wheel
sliding all over the shop. Few silly marks being dropped here
and there. I think he would be better at speedway maybe!
Kyle Roberts was trying his best not to get beaten
by a girl (Jenny Stephens) on the yellow route and was just in
front on points.
I think every one else had a good time and the
day went smoothly with the rain showing its ugerly head at 1 which
by then most riders had finished. Except me and Gary, we still
had a lap to do and the sections were starting to get a tad slippery.
Good days fun : thanks to Richard for the use of
his land and for the new holes, and everyone else that was involved
in laying out and organising this event. Cheers .
